What made you decide to start your own business? View previous responses: http://www.nursingentrepreneurs.com/why/

I've had a passion now for the past 6 years now to work from home and reach a wider audience also with the freedom of making my own schedule and setting my own hours. I wanted a better lifestyle with more freedom to spend my time the way I want to spend it.

How many times have you changed employers in your career? I have had 6 jobs since becoming an RN in 1991.

What specific qualities and traits do you feel make nurses especially qualified to operate a business? View previous responses: http://www.nursingentrepreneurs.com/qualities

Nurses know how to assess, evaluate, implement, and develop a plan for our patients, this can be transfered in a business. We have organizations skills, time management skills and can be very creative people.

Do you currently practice as a nurse? If yes in what type of setting? I work part time as an Oncolgy Home Healthcare Nurse 3 days a week

Your most pressing concerns with the profession and healthcare: That nurses are not precieved in the publics eye as professionals, We are looked at as assistants to doctors who don't do much outside of bedside nursing.

How do you feel the coming nursing shortage (as baby boomer enter the healthcare system, and nurses retire in droves) will affect patient care? I believe with the baby boom generation that you will have a more educated bunch of consumers who will want alternative care and therapies. It will be nurses who will be able to provide these kinds of treatments, giving consumers/patients more choices allowing them to make informed decisions about their healthcare. I see this as a good thing. I think with educated consumers come more respect for the nursing profession.

Other areas of interest and expertise: I love the outdoors and spend most of free time with husband, grand kids enjoying what nature has to offer. We hike, backpack, camp, cave, ski, suba dive and whatever else there is to do outside in the great outdoors.
