Do you feel having your own a malpractice insurance policy is necessary why or why not: have never really given it much thought guess I should huh

Your most pressing concerns with the profession and healthcare: accountability continued education I strive to always give 200% I am therefore obviously irked to no end when I encounter a co-worker who still has the I m JUST a nurse mentality. We all went to college we all graduated we should all make every effort to continuously improve our skills broaden our knowledge base etc. After all we are caring for human lives not pumping gas at Exxon.

I've received many a report from nurses who are totally and completely clueless as to the POC and rationals for the tx s ....pt in Afib RVR rate 170 placed on Cardizem drip.. I ask why--response hell I don t know agghh ...pt on Heparin Coumadin--nurse has no clue which labs need to be reviewed--response I m not a lab tech I m JUST the nurse agghh  okay I ll stop now...I could go on and on and on and on and on and on.........
Have you ever considered leaving the profession If yes what options have you explored: yes currently developing an original line of christian tshirts for healthcare professionals

What attracted you to the field of Nursing: the cheezy and cancelled show Nightingales ...don't laugh

 Personal or favorite Quote: when I look back at all the crap I learned in high school it s a wonder I can think at all
 Qualities you admire in your friends, loved ones: the fact that they can put up with a woman who eats with the same hands she used to clean a butt wipe off vomit blood drainage etc
 Pet Peeves: nurses who don't take their job seriously patients who treat us like maids baby sitters
 Major turn-offs: any doctor who won't leave orders then gets angry for being called at 0200
